HTA is the largest employer of apprentice cooks and bakers in Queensland with over 500 employees working for more than 250 quality establishments ranging from catering facilities, taverns, clubs, hotels and cafes, to five star establishments.

How to get started:
- Consider the staffing needs of your business
- Call HTA and a Business Relations Officer will visit you to discuss your options
- Upon meeting the terms and conditions we will refer job ready applicant(s) for interview(s)
- Soon after your new HTA Apprentice/Trainee has started, we will make our first monitoring visit to see how your new employee is going and review their performance

Through the Hospitality Training Association’s (HTA) dedication to recruitment, employment and training, HTA has become a highly respected association and a leader within the industry.
Continuing with our commitment to the industry, HTA and Restaurant and Catering Queensland (RCQ) have ‘joined forces’ to develop a program aimed at supporting the hospitality industry and young people alike.
The Futures Employment Program is designed to provide part-time employment opportunities to high school students currently undertaking years ten, eleven or twelve studies.
A win-win for the industry and the students, all schools and restaurateurs are encouraged to participate in this invaluable program.

The 2008 Industry Scholarship Program is offered by the Hospitality Training Association Inc. (HTA) in
conjunction with the peak industry employer and employee associations:
- Clubs Queensland
- Hotel, Motel and Accommodation Association (HMAA)
- Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Union (LHMU)
- Queensland Hotels Association (QHA)
- Restaurant and Catering Queensland (RCQ)
HTA is Queensland’s leading training, employment and recruitment organisation servicing the
growing hospitality and tourism industry.
The 2008 HTA Industry Scholarship Program, worth
more than $300,000 this year, aims to promote the hospitality and tourism industry as a career
pathway for the next generation of industry staff and management.
Commencing in January 2008, the Diploma of Hospitality Management scholarships are
valued at $18,000 each and prepare students for a rewarding career in the industry.
